ReMaine Clean Energy Internship Program

ReMaine is a clean energy internship program funded by the Maine Governor’s Energy Office and managed by Northeast Energy Efficiency Partnerships (NEEP), in partnership with The JPI Group, IntWork, and E2TECH. The program places entry-level candidates interested in the clean energy industry in paid, short-term roles with Maine employers, and subsidizes their wages 50 percent. Interns must have interest in the clean energy industry, be motivated to take on a new career, be engaged and willing to learn new skills, attend all trainings, including the BPI Building Science Principles Certificate session, receive regular feedback on performance, and sign a participation agreement that outlines the program’s expectations. If you are interested in participating as an intern and are concerned about travel costs, childcare needs, etc., please inquire about supports available.

RetrofitMAINE/BuildingsUp Program Director - Passivhaus MAINE

Energy Project Manager - College of the Atlantic

College of the Atlantic seeks a full-time, temporary (18-month) Energy Project Manager to join the Community Energy Center. The successful candidate will be highly organized and detail-oriented with the ability to work collaboratively with faculty, staff, and students to lead a community-based energy upgrade program. The Energy Project Manager will oversee and support students conducting home energy audits on Great Cranberry Island for the 2024 summer and in other locations in Maine in 2025. A college degree in engineering, physics, environmental science, or another field related to renewable energy or energy conservation is preferred, although we also welcome candidates with five or more years of construction experience, particularly those with a plumbing,  VAC/refrigeration, or electrical license.

The salary range for this position is $50,000-$60,000/year, based on experience. This position is funded for 18 months and may be extended if additional funding becomes available. Benefits include health, dental, and life insurances, retirement, vacation, and tuition relief for employees and dependents. Housing for summer 2024 on Great Cranberry Island will be provided.

Energy Policy Analyst (Public Service Coordinator II) - Governor's Energy Office, Augusta, ME

The Energy Policy Analyst – Markets and Procurement serves as a key staff person in the Governor's Energy Office (GEO). The GEO is the state of Maine’s designated energy office and primary advisor to the Governor on energy issues. Meeting Maine’s ambitious climate and clean energy requirements will require the expansion and development of existing and new renewable energy industries. The Governor’s Energy Office will play a critical role in ensuring that these activities are cost effective and beneficial for Maine people and businesses. The Analyst provides support and analysis on topics related to energy markets and procurement, with an emphasis on the development of long-term contracting and other procurement mechanisms of clean energy technologies in Maine including offshore wind and energy storage. This position will play an important role to facilitate the GEO’s procurement responsibilities through thoughtful, data-driven analysis, partnerships with other states, and working with stakeholders. The Analyst will report to the Policy and Markets Program Manager and coordinate closely with the Offshore Wind Program Manager and the GEO senior leadership.

Electric Power Cooperative General manager

The Isle au Haut Electric Power Cooperative (PoCo) seeks a General Manager to lead the Cooperative’s operations. The position is part-time. Hours for the position are flexible and allow for other work on/off island if approved. As the Cooperative develops new customer installations and future power generation sources, the General Manager will be asked to assume further responsibility for that development with commensurate increase in compensation. Maine’s broadband, construction, clean energy, and related infrastructure sectors are expanding with the infusion of federal funds through the Bipartisan Infrastructure Plan and Inflation Reduction Act. This unprecedented funding opportunity calls attention to the need for a robust and trained workforce to complete these projects successfully and advance Maine’s climate and infrastructure development goals.

In support of these growing sectors, this position will lead infrastructure workforce policy development; planning and coordination across multiple state agencies, workforce development partners, and other key stakeholders; and, assist in the implementation of these plans.

This position is funded through the Maine Jobs and Recovery Plan to December 2024. The initial appointment coincides with the State fiscal year, which ends in June 2024. Island Institute - Senior Community Development Officer - Clean Energy

Island Institute has an exciting career opportunity for an experienced professional to join our team as Senior Community Development Officer – Clean Energy. COMPOSITE BOAT BUILDING INSTRUCTOR - The Landing School

Position: Program Instructor in the Composite Boat Building Program at the Landing School. This position is a full-time, permanent position, functioning within the direct supervision of the Director of Education, hired by the President of the School.

Objective: The Composite Boat Building curriculum is designed to provide students with a structured learning environment in which they can become knowledgeable and proficient in the practical application of the fundamental principles of construction and manufacturing techniques in the composites industry, primarily focused on the Marine Trades Industry

The program instructs students in the fabrication of composite components and the construction of commercial products, including small, modern boats, using various non-wood materials such as fiberglass, carbon fiber, Kevlar, and natural fibers such as flax.

Teaching students how to work on and complete projects on schedule with a high level of quality are primary goals. Projects for the school may vary from year to year but will always include a boat build and associated tooling.


NORTH HAVEN SUSTAINABLE HOUSING - Part-time Executive Director

North Haven Sustainable Housing (NHSH) was established as a non-profit in 2005 with a mission to provide affordable housing opportunities to help sustain the year-round island community on North Haven, one of Maine’s fourteen unbridged island communities that lies in Penobscot Bay about twelve miles east of Rockland. It is served by a Maine Department of Transportation ferry that makes three round-trip passages a day from Rockland year-round. The current year-round population based on 2020 census data is 417 residents. The island hosts at least another 1,000 seasonal residents, both homeowners and renters, during the summer months.

NHSH seeks an Executive Director (ED) with a passion for the organization’s mission as well as demonstrated leadership skills, particularly in the areas of fundraising, financial management, and community outreach. The ED reports to the Board of Directors and is responsible for overall strategic direction, fundraising and finance, organizational performance management, board and donor relations, networking, and staff support and management.

Maine Renewable Energy Association - Executive Director


The Maine Renewable Energy Association (MREA) is a not-for-profit association of renewable energy producers, suppliers of goods and services to those producers, and other supporters of this industry.


Our power producer members sustainably manufacture electricity from solar, wind, hydro, biomass and tidal. MREA represents the renewable power industry at the Maine State Legislature, before the Maine Public Utilities Commission, and on other matters of importance to members, as needed.


MREA leads the local and statewide policy debate on renewable energy generation in Maine and works to ensure its efforts are united with those of its member companies. Acting as the eyes and ears of the industry is what MREA does best; recognizing its most valued asset is the vast knowledge, experience, and ingenuity of its membership.


The MREA Executive Director (ED) runs the day-to-day operations of MREA, in conjunction with the MREA Deputy Director. The ED oversees all legislative, regulatory and communications efforts on behalf of the industry in Maine. The ED will often be asked to advocate before various elected state officials, state regulatory agencies and engage frequently with Maine media outlets.
