Join us online to get an update from Chris Wissemann, CEO of Diamond Offshore Wind, on the Maine Research Array and learn about the key opportunities and challenges of offshore wind development in the Gulf of Maine. We will gather for an online presentation, discussion, and Q&A.

Diamond Offshore Wind, working with the State of Maine and the University of Maine’s Advanced Structures and Composites Center, is developing the Maine Research Array, a 144 megawatt floating offshore wind project utilizing UMaine’s patented VolturnUS concrete foundation design. The project is intended to determine proper integration of offshore wind with the ecosystem and traditional uses of the Gulf of Maine in advance of the development of commercial projects in the gulf.

Chris Wissemann is CEO of Diamond Offshore Wind, part of the Mitsubishi Corporation family of companies involved in Offshore Wind including Eneco and Diamond Transmission Corporation. He is one of the leaders of the domestic offshore wind industry. He founded Deepwater Wind in 2005 and drove development of the first offshore wind project in the U.S. off of Block Island, Rhode Island.

This is a public event, so invitations can be forwarded to others. The Zoom link is available as the "location" to the left.
