Join us online to learn from Matt Nixon, the owner of Muddy River Farm Aquaponics in Topsham, and gain insights into the world of oyster farming in the era of climate change. We will gather for an online presentation, discussion and Q&A. The Zoom link will be sent to all participants prior to the event.

Muddy River Farm Aquaponics, LLC, in partnership with the University of Maine’s Advanced Structures and Composites Center, the Maine Technology Institute and the US Department of Energy’s Oak Ridge National Labs, designed, tested, and manufactured an upland oyster production system based on principles of vertical agriculture. The modular system or, Oyster Pod, is 3D printed from wood flour and bioresins and is a Maine-made solution to climate change impacts and preparing Maine’s coastal economy for change.

We plan on doing a site visit in 2024. Register today and you also will be invited to the site visit.

This is a public event, so invitations can be forwarded to others.  Registration is necessary in order to receive the Zoom link.
