Understand how Amply Energy is using AI to accelerate the energy transition
Our Speaker is Eric Fitz, the Co-Founder of Amply Energy, he holds a BA from Colby, where he majored in Physics, a BE from the Thayer School of Engineering at Dartmouth, and an MS in Mechanical Engineering from Georgia Tech.

About the event
Join us on August 22 from 12:30-1:30 pm at the Roux Institute, 100 Fore Street, Portland, ME, 04101 AND Virtually, the Zoom link will be sent to registered participants. Our discussion is with a Maine entrepreneur who successfully launched a firm based on software for installers of heat pumps.
Over 60% of Maine's residential housing was heated by oil. To decarbonize Maine while at the same time reducing heating costs and improving Maine's housing stock, Governor Mills called for the installation of 350,000 heat pumps (many subsidized by the Efficiency Maine Trust). It's difficult because each house is unique. Amply Energy has a sales tool that creates a faster and more accurate process for comfort advisors. With one app, they can quickly collect the data, run the calculations, and generate a heat pump design that both customers and install teams will love.
Our speaker, Eric Fitz, is the co-founder and co-CEO of Amply Energy. He will talk about the 2021 launch of his firm and its evolution in terms of the business and also the technology - how computer algorithms and Artificial Intelligence (AI) play a role in their product and in the transition away from fossil fuels. The talk will conclude with a broader discussion of future opportunities and challenges. Eric has been in the energy sector since 2006, initially with GE. He earned a BA from Colby, where he majored in Physics, a BE from the Thayer School of Engineering at Dartmouth, and an MS in Mechanical Engineering from Georgia Tech.
Hosted by the ClimateTech Incubator at Northeastern University's Roux Institute and by E2Tech, the program is part of an ongoing speaker series focused on AI, climate, and energy. This event is hosted as a lunch and learn - bring your own lunch and learn about AI and the energy transition. There is a virtual option, but if you join in person at the Roux Institute, there will be refreshing beverages and a sweet dessert treat for attendees.
