TUESDAY TECH TALKS
Members-only expert-led online meetups on topics of timely interest
Environmental DNA (eDNA) is naturally shed by organisms into their environment, such as streams, rivers, and oceans. eDNA can be used as a tool to evaluate effluent effects of wastewater treatment processes, assess management effects on biota, or delineate fish-bearing streams. By sampling the habitat in which species live, we can detect their presence without having to capture, handle, or even see the organisms we are looking for. Learn how to use this effective tool, in a discussion led by Jake Riley of Stantec, an experienced practitioner.
