American Wind Energy Association Regional
Wind Energy Conference 2016- Northeast

AWEA's Regional Wind Energy Conference will focus on the critical issues that will help advance wind power's growth in the Northeast. The event will provide attendees with a comprehensive view of both land-based wind power development and the nascent efforts to develop offshore wind power off the region's coast.

Is wind power in New England entering its best era ever, or facing significant hurdles? Are clean energy RFP’s the economic engine for the industry's growth, or will cheap natural gas hinder this growth? Can wind help fill New England’s energy gap caused by the retirement of existing power generators?

A lot is happening in New England! Large wind projects, new transmission lines, important legislation, and expanding markets. Technology advances in battery storage, offshore wind advancements, bat management requirements, turbine maintenance opportunities, and cement tower demonstrations. As well as clean energy RFP's and a regional outlook for wind energy development.

At this ground-breaking AWEA event, attendees will...

  • Analyze where wind power stands today in the Northeast and the critical issues specific to the region
  • Evaluate the market and policy in the region, specifically the various growth strategies and demand drivers in the region
  • Detail the critical issues affecting offshore wind development, siting and wildlife, and transmission infrastructure needs, as well as manufacturing and supply chain opportunities in the region
  • Examine the utility issues that can secure cost-effective wind energy supply, job growth, and economic development opportunities
