Cleantech Policy and Program Administrator - Position Description


Overview: The Environmental & Energy Technology Council of Maine (E2Tech) is the state's leading energy, environmental, and clean technology business and economic development organization. E2Tech is a catalyst, a change agent, and a resource center that strives to:

  • promote Maine companies,
  • support their robust and sustainable growth, and
  • help them compete in national and international markets.

E2Tech is funded through annual dues paid by its over 300 member companies, most of whom are environmental or renewable energy firms, as well as a network of Sustaining Partner Members and federal, state, and foundation grants.

Position Summary:  

The Cleantech Policy & Program Administrator will report directly to the Executive Director. She/he/they will be responsible for managing events and providing program support, conducting a weekly energy price survey program, tracking energy & environmental policies, creating educational outreach materials, and working with the Board of Directors. Interest in clean energy & environmental policy is a plus, as is familiarity with the membership management / CRM software Wild Apricot or CRM software generally.

Position Responsibilities Include:

  • Manage events - advertising, registration and coordination
  • Conduct and provide research assistance for ongoing projects, events, and educational materials
  • Conduct weekly calls, typically on Mondays, to oil dealers to track prices and produce weekly status report to the Maine Governor’s Energy Office
  • Track and report weekly on Maine energy and environmental bills in the state legislature
  • Assemble information packets for Board of Directors and Committee meetings
  • Attend Board of Directors and Committee meetings and record minutes
  • Represent E2Tech at partner and other events
  • Manage website content
  • Create marketing materials and the Annual Report
  • Create E2Tech newsletter
  • Manage membership
  • Track membership (new and renewals)
  • Produce monthly membership reports for the Board of Directors and the Membership Committee
  • Create invoices for new memberships and renewals, including Sustaining Partner program and attend to membership with unpaid dues (familiarity with Wild Apricot membership software or other CRM software is a plus)
  • Support the preparation of grant applications
  • Maintain grant tracking document and produce progress status reports, as required
  • Maintain calendar of events, meetings and key dates, and send calendar invitations
  • Assist with production of financial reports (general accounting knowledge is a plus)
  • Other administrative functions, as required

General Requirements:

·  Associate’s Degree or equivalent

·  Experience working in an office environment

·  Conversant with MS Office Suite and Google Suite

·  General accounting knowledge is a plus

·  Ability to flex work schedule for occasional evening or early morning events

Job Type: Full Time with health benefits for the employee

Pay: $44,000 to $48,000 annually
